Arve Leksnes
By Knut Nærum
Self-absorbed? Missing social antennae? Quarrelsome? Always have to have the last word?
In 2025, it will be over 50 years since Norway had its first meeting with a person who was just like that. He is the fictional character who has had the longest life on Norwegian TV. He is Marve Fleksnes.
Arve Leksnes reminds me of Marve in many ways, but is not him. He's just that kind of guy. In Knut Nærum's comedy, Arve Leksnes is a bachelor in his forties, living in Innlandet. As the play begins, he has just been fired – or, as it is now called: "made redundant" – from his warehouse job, and moves home to his mom.
No job.
No housing.
No lady.
No problem.
