1. Snowshoeing in winterland

With snowshoes you can experience nature in a whole new way. Join a fantastic two-hour family-friendly snowshoe trip in winter surroundings. The trip is suitable for all ages, and the guide will adapt the length, terrain and speed to the participants. Loan of snowshoes and poles is included in the price. 

2. Ski school for children

Do you find it difficult to teach your children to ski? At ski school with SkiStar Guides, your children are guaranteed to have fun, and the learning curve will be steep. Maybe you can take a ride on the slopes while the kids are at ski school? Or you can take the opportunity to go to ski school yourself.

3. Dog sledding

Dog sledding is excitement, adventure and experience!
In Trysil, you can steer your own sled through genuine mountain terrain. When the first slightly nervous minutes have passed, you are in fully control over the dogs and can enjoy the ride in fantastic nature. 40 minutes, half day or full day. There are two companies who offer dog sledding in Trysil. This activity is also adapted for the disabled.

4. Beautiful sleigh ride

Sleigh ride in the deep forests in Trysil is an adventure, an atmospheric trip with bells and torches. You can just relax and enjoy the surroundings, well wrapped in warm reindeer skins. After about 20 minutes in the horse-drawn sleigh, you reach the lavvo-tent, which is the goal of the trip. Here you will be served a delicious 3-course dinner, including elk steak stew and apple cake.

5. Ice rink

A visit to the ice rink is guaranteed to give big smiles to both young and old! The ice rink is located by the river, right behind Hagebæk center in the city center. The course is prepared as long as the weather and conditions allow and is free to use. The course has floodlights that light up all evening. You must bring your own skates.

6. Early morning skiing

If you want an exclusive and unique start to your skiing day, we can really recommend Early morning skiing. In short, Early morning skiing is about having the black and freshly groomed slopes in Høgegga almost to yourself for two hours.

7. One of Norway's longest toboggan runs

Try something special! Experience one of Norway's longest toboggan runs at Fulufjellet ski centre (approximately 45 minutes drive from Trysil city center, in the east of the municipality). The sled is hooked on the t-bar, and the t-bar lifts take you to the top of the slope. The slope is 1600 meters long. On good snow with good condition, the sled can go up to 70 km / h. The age limit is 10 years.

8. Indoor fun

The winter holidays are mainly about outdoor activities, but it is nice to have some indoor fun as well. At Radisson Blu Resort Trysil you will find swimming activities for everyone. There are three different pools, both for the little ones, for those who want to swim a little and for those who want to play or try the climbing wall that goes up from the pool. A fun challenge is the surf wave. If the wish is to have it a little more relaxing, the spa is next door.
Chill Bowl & Dine is also a popular place to spend some hours. The hall has eight world-class bowling alleys.

Shopping in Trysil city center

Remember to set aside enough time to explore Trysil's shopping opportunities. The shops offer many different things, from clothes and interiors to electronics. Maybe you will be surprised by the selection and the level of service in the shops.

Skiing or shopping – have in mind it is not far to the nearest eatery. In the ski area you can reach 30 restaurants with skis on your feet, and in the city center you will find both cafes and restaurants. Here you get a full overview of the restaurants in Trysil.

9. Horseback riding in winter wonderland

Join Trysil Hestesenter (horse center) on winter horseback riding. It is a great experience to accompany the kind horses and the safe hosts on a trip in the snow-covered landscape. The horse center offers a 1.5 hour ride, including a stop with hot drinks in the lavvo-tent.

10. Meet Valle

The snowman Valle is the main character in Skistar's children's concept. Throughout the winter he has many fun activities for children. He is the children's best friend and does everything to ensure that young and old have a fantastic skiing holiday. You meet Valle in the children's areas, and this year you greet Valle by either waving or shaping your hands like a heart.
