8 tips for summer holidays on a budget

1. Be early to book

2. Stay in a tent, caravan or camping 

If you want to watch your budget this summer , staying in a tent, caravan or camping can be a good solution. In Trysil you can also rent cozy cabins and apartments. Most cabins have nature right outside the door. Can you picture the sunset?

Another good tip is to go on a summer holiday with friends or family members. If there are more people, housing costs will be lower. Maybe you want to rent a large cabin or apartment? 3. Trail Biking 

Cycling is an affordable and fun activity. In Trysil, we have exciting bike paths for young and old. Here the whole family can enjoy themselves on two wheels. We have over 50 km of built bike paths, bike parks and lift-based trail biking. And if this is not enough, then we have 100 kilometers of natural bike paths as well. In Trysil, everything is in place for great cycling experiences for children and adults. You can bring your own bike, or you can rent.

Here the whole family can go hiking on their own, or you can join one of our guided tours. For many, this is a whole new way to experience Trysil. If you love water, we recommend you go on a canoe trip or visit one of the many bathing spots you will find in Trysil. What could be better than jumping into the water on a scorching summer day? In Trysil, we also have river activities that are suitable for young and old. And if you love fishing, Trysil is the place for you.


5. Shop for food and drinks at the store 


To keep your budget under control, it can be a good idea to shop for meals at the grocery store. Make yourself a packed lunch for your bike ride. On the cycle paths there are several rest areas along the way. And in the GT Bike Park there are benches and barbecue, so you can bring your own barbecue. Summer is great when you smell sausages on the grill.

6. Choose restaurants that are suitable for your wallet 

In Trysil you will find almost 20 wonderful, summer-open eateries, in all price ranges. In Trysil you can enjoy everything from bistros and food trucks to artisan bakeries and cozy cafes.

7. Schedule a few quiet days 

In the summer, it is often full speed from late to early. Many people think it's good to put in a few days where you can calm down a bit. It can be good for both the body and the budget. Then it may be a good idea to explore the cultural offerings in the area.

On calm rainy days, it can be a good idea to go to the library, watch a funny movie at the cinema, visit the floating facility Støa Kanal or one of the nice galleries in Trysil.

Trysil also has Norway's oldest rural museum, and in the summer they have both guided tours and small events here.

And let's not forget the crowd favorites swimming and bowling.
