The story of The Wildstones, pop music and youth in the 60s
Storv. 1
There will be a book presentation and "reminiscing" back to the 60s in Solør/Elverum/Trysil/Hedmark - and in Norway. And The Wildstones played several times in Trysil! Already on Christmas Day in 1965 (when the band was at the very beginning) they played at Framnes in Tørberget. Later they played both at Plassen in Søre-Trysil (outside at Festplassen and inside Samfunnshuset and also at Nybergsund Samfunnshus.
What was the story of The Wildstones from Flisa really like? Why was it important that the "Youth Meeting" at Teten at Flisa got started in February 1966 both for the youth and for The Wildstones? Soon The Wildstones became popular not only in Solør, but over large parts of Eastern Norway and they also visited Trøndelag and Sweden.
There will be glimpses into a mix of youth and the band's history in the 60s; band competitions were won, why was there never a recording, what exactly is the story of "Danser i regn" / "Regnets rytme" and what happened when the band played in the Tønsberg area in the summers of 1968 and 1969? The stories are many. Of course, there is also a chapter on "Girls, girls, girls".
Many well-known music journalists have given good reviews of the book. They emphasize that in addition to the story of The Wildstones, the book also provides a good insight into adolescence and youth culture in the 60s.
Ole Jonny is from Flisa and was in The Wildstones the entire time the band existed from 1964 to 1970. It is Absolut forlag in Brumunddal that has published the book. Richly illustrated, 224 pages and was published in December 2022.
