Vestre Trysil Sports Club was founded on 25 May 1919 and has a fantastic history.
Welcome to Vestre Trysil Sports Club!
Story
Vestre Trysil Sports Club is best known for Hallgeir Brenden and his performances during the team's heyday in the 50s and 60s. Together with Hallgeir Brenden, a number of talents grew up in Tørberget and the surrounding hamlets who made a name for themselves both nationally and internationally. At times, it was just as difficult to become club champion in Vestre Trysil, as it was to become Norwegian champion. From being a multi-sport team with skiing, athletics and football, biathlon gradually became the major sport in the team throughout the 80s.
The sports team today
Today, Vestre Trysil Sports Club's most important task is to promote physical activity among children and adults.
A larger trail network has been run throughout the winter, and is connected to the trail network of Søre Osen Idrettslag and Vestby Vel. Adjacent to the floodlit trail, a great ski area has been developed.
Ski races in Vestre
Every year, Vestre Trysil Sports Club organizes the children's ski race Hallgeirsprinten. A ski race for children aged 1-13 years, under the motto "SKIING IS FUN"
On Palm Sunday, the hiking race Munksjørennet is held, which goes from Munksjøen to Tørberget. With an ever-increasing number of participants, it is one of Trysil's largest ski races.
