Søre Osen Church is beautifully situated by Lake Osen in the western part of Trysil.
Søre Osen or Søndre Osen church is a typical of the time, relatively simple long church built in exterior and interior panelled timber according to unknown drawings, but it is said that builder Hans Øverby studied Engerdal church from 1873 before he started the construction of Søre Osen.
Søre Osen church has a tower in the west and a chancel in the full width of the nave. The church received a large newer sacristy extension in 1959. The church was painted for the first time in 1907. The church is well preserved inside with distinctive hangings and foliage work in the chancel divider.
The inventory is from the construction period and later. In 1931, Th. N. Rustad from Nordre Osen decorated the chancel walls with a painted frieze at the top of the walls with vines of leaves, angel friezes and medallions with biblical motifs. The altarpiece is from 1964 painted by Bjarne Rundfloen. He has painted Christ in a forest landscape. In the nave are the two original iron furnaces.
