The village of Ljørdalen and Ljørdalen church is located near the Swedish border, about 40 km from Innbygda/Trysil center. Ljørdalen Church is built of wood and was built in 1872. The church has a rectangle plan and 200 seats.

Ljørdalen church is a relatively simple, timbered and externally panelled long church built in 1872. The church is said to have been designed by Per Moen from Ljørdal, but vidus shapes and presumably the original tower shape with a pyramid cap may indicate shapes taken from Linstow's pattern drawing from 1829. The exterior of the church was panelled and the tower raised in 1897. In 1980, an extension was built in the same width as the nave and choir, with sacristies and kitchen on the 1st floor and meeting rooms on the 2nd floor. The original sacristy was moved out to the new east wall and furnished as a WC and wardrobe by architect John Nakken.

The interior is relatively well preserved from the time of construction, with an oak-aged pulpit, choir divider and baptismal font. The organ gallery in the west is also oak veined. The ceiling above the organ gallery was lifted in 1950 or later. An iron furnace still stands on the south wall of the nave. Between the chancel and the nave hang simple geometrically pronounced ornaments. The altarpiece was painted in 1907 by H. Ødegård and is a copy of A. Tidemand's baptism of Jesus in the Church of the Holy Trinity in Oslo.
