Trysil River Canoe

The canoe trip is suitable for families with children and friends on a trip. The trip starts 2 km south from the center of Trysil at Trysil Hyttegrend & Camping, right by the river with nice swimming and fishing opportunities.

The Trysil river is a beautiful glass shard river that runs through Trysil. It meanders through beautiful nature, winds around beautiful islands and sandy beaches and all the way you have a view of the impressive Trysilfjellet. In the river, there is a steady fine current that means that you hardly need to paddle. Pack a picnic basket and sit back. Go ashore on an island or beach and experience the tranquility, make a fire, go for a short walk or just enjoy the silence. Paddle quietly on and see trout and grayling living in the clear water.

Rent a canoe and experience the Trysil river on your own

Price: 3 hours NOK 495 per canoe and one day NOK 595 per canoe.
You can rent a canoe from 8.30 am to 8.00 pm.

The price includes paddles and life jackets. The canoe has 2 seats and is well suited for two adults with luggage. Without too much luggage, there can be 4 people in each canoe (2 adults and 2 small children sit on the floor). 

Trysilelva Canoe trip to Tjønna + transport back

The Trysil river flows quietly the approx. 4 km between Trysil Hyttegrend and Tjønna in Nybergsund. Without a break, it takes about an hour. Enough time to explore the islands, fish, make a fire, barbecue or search for beaver tracks. You get a hiking map with things to do along the way.

Tjønna is a small pond, quiet and child-friendly. Here it is nice to swim and play and easy for children to paddle a little. There is a sandy beach, playground equipment, barbecue facilities, beach volleyball, benches and toilets.

We have two start times: 10:30 am and 2:00 pm. We meet at one of these times at the reception of Trysil Hyttegrend & Camping. After everyone has been given a life jacket, we drive to Tjønna where you can park the car. We drive you back to Trysil Hyttegrend & Camping where the canoe trip starts. When you arrive at Tjønna, the trip is over, and you can put the canoe, vests and paddles on land. We will pick up the canoe later.

Price: 3 hours NOK 795 per canoe incl. transport back.
Start times: 11:00 am and 0 pm 3:00 pm.

The river has a smooth, nice current that means you hardly need to paddle. Pack a picnic basket and sit back. Go ashore on an island or beach and experience the peace, make a fire, go for a short walk or just enjoy the silence. Paddle quietly further and see the trout and grayling that live in the clear water.

After everyone has been given a life jacket, we drive to Tjønna where you can park your car. We drive you back to Trysil Hyttegrend & Camping where the canoe trip starts. When you arrive at Tjønna, the trip is over, and you can leave the canoe, vests and paddles on land. We will pick up the canoe later.
