Kopparleden theatre team was founded in 2011 and has its main work in outdoor theatre experiences associated with Trysil and Engerdal in Innlandet.

Kopparleden Theatre Team

Our goal is for our performances to be of high artistic quality, create identity and increase pride and belonging to the region. We want to gather local and regional actors for a larger joint cultural project, both amateurs and professionals form our theater team.

Anna in Ødemarka

Kopparleden theatre team's first production was "Anna in the wilderness", an outdoor play based on and inspired by the Trysil author Dagfinn Grønoset's best-selling novel from 1972. The performance is performed every odd-numbered year in August.

Small and large productions

Throughout the years, we have produced both larger and smaller productions alone or in collaboration with other actors such as Anno Museum, the Cultural Heritage Days, the festival Heme dine, Engerdal and Trysil municipalities across time, place and space, but always with a local twist.

To name a few, Shakespeare's "A Såmmårnattsdrøm" based on the Trysil author Halldis Moren Vesaas's translation was set in the forest in Hedmark with both hulder (a Tore) and Santa present, played on and around a pond both in Engerdal and in Elverum. Other performances also outdoors are Prøysen's "The well-to-do village that forgot it was Christmas" performed both in Trysil, Engerdal and Elverum in winter.

We have also collaborated with local food suppliers and companies, such as in the "murder to the food" performance "Mousefella" by Agata Christie and "Bisamak of Blood", an impromptu performance where the audience was actively involved.

Cultural heritage

As a regional theatre company, it is important for us to take care of cultural heritage and present actual events from the local and regional history actualized so that we can either learn something from it today or learn something about our identity back in time.
