Rent a canoe and experience the Trysil River on your own
Trysil river is a lovely crystal clear river that runs through Trysil. It meanders through beautiful scenery, winds around islands and sandy beaches and all the way you have a view of the impressive Trysil mountain. There is a gentle stream, you almost do not need to paddle. Pack some food and sit back. Go ashore on an island or beach, make a fire, go for a little walk or just enjoy the silence. Paddle on and watch trout and grayling living in the clear water.
Trysil river Canoe trip to Tjønna - 3 hours + transport
This canoe trip is suitable for families with children and friends on tour. The tour starts 2 km south from Trysil center at Trysil Hyttegrend & Camping, with nice bathing and fishing opportunities.
The Trysil river flows quietly and calmly the approx. 4 km between Trysil Hyttegrend and Tjønna in Nybergsund. Without a break, it takes approx. one hour. Enough time to explore the islands, fish, make a fire, grill or search for bever tracks. We give you a tour map with things to do along the way.
Tjønna (the pick-up point) is a small lake, quiet and child-friendly. Here it is nice to swim and play and easy for children to paddle. There is sandy beach, playground, barbecue facilities, beach volleyball, picnic tables and a toilet.

The canoe fits well for two persons with luggage. For shorter trips without too much luggage, it goes well with three in each canoe (2 adults and 1 child).
